This kit will transform a standard 1.8L powerplant into a 2035cc monster. When combined with a sport exhaust system and the Euro intake camshaft, the 2035cc 16V engine kicks out a breathtaking 170 horsepower. The 2035cc 8V with a SportTuned head pumps out 150hp. Each kit includes a new Factory forged 2.0L crankshaft, special Autotech SportTuned forged piston set, new German main and rod bearings, and an OEM headgasket. Instructions are included for modification of oil pump and intermediate shaft. These components are designed to use the standard 144mm (1.8L or 2.0L) connecting rods. This kit uses an original Volkswagen forged crankshaft to ensure durability, and JE pistons designed for the rigors of sport use. SportTuned 2.1L Engine Kits for 2.0L Engines

Autotech's big engine conversion is designed for Volkswagen's 2.0L block. The enlarged stroke clearances in this "bubble block" allow for very large stroke crankshafts. Our 95.5mm SportTuned Crankshaft is machined from a factory forging. The SportTuned big bore pistons from JE are forged from a special alloy that is superior to that used in other forged pistons. The alloy used has very low thermal expansion. This, in combination with unique piston skirt shaping, allows for very tight piston-to-cylinderwall tolerances (0.002in.), virtually eliminating blow-by problems usually associated with forged pistons. What you end up with is an extremely strong and lightweight piston capable of going the distance in a street motor. Each engine kit comes complete with crankshaft, pistons, piston rings, wrist pins and clips, German main and rod bearings, headgasket, and instructions.
