Badges and Emblems
Autotech offers a large variety of badges and emblems. Factory German types are designed to retrofit in the standard
holes on the vehicle, or to adhere with double-sided adhesive. Front grille badges
are designed to install by snapping into the existing grille, or by using a little improvisation.

Removing emblems? Get your tackle box.
If you would like to remove the self-adhesive emblems from the painted surface of your VW's trunk or latch,
here's a novel way to remove them using fishing line. Remember, this only applies to cars using adhesive backed
emblems, not the pin-mounted type on Mk1 and some Mk2 models.
Using about 2' of 2-lb. Test monofilament fishing line (or even dental floss), stretch the line between both
hands and slide between the emblem and the car body. With the line parallel to the body, slowly pull the line through the
adhesive backing, cutting or pulling it away. Remove any adhesive residue using a paint-safe adhesive remover, being
sure to follow the solvent manufacturer's instructions. |
