Front Brake Conversions
As horsepower levels increase, so must the car's braking ability. Even with the standard engine, spirited driving can
often tax the limits of the original brakes on your car. This can be a dangerous problem if not addressed. And as
far as serious driving in a modified car is concerned, you'll soon find yourself easily outdistancing your stopping power.
Autotech's brake conversion kits are designed to give your VW the edge in performance driving. Our kits consist of
only new parts, not used or remanufactured, to ensure that each conversion is the best available. All brake discs are the highest quality, made
in Germany by the original equipment suppliers to Volkswagen.
Note: Mk1 chassis is all Rabbit, Scirocco, Jetta 1, and, in this case, Fox models. Mk2 chassis refers to all Golf 2,
Jetta 2, Passat 4-cyl and Corrado G60 models. Mk3 chassis refers to the Golf 3, Jetta 3 and Corrado VR6. Mk4 chassis refers to the
1998-2005 Golf/GTI 4, Jetta 4 and New Beetle. Finally, Mk5 is the new 2006 GTI, Jetta and Rabbit with 2.0T or 2.5L engines.

Mk5 Chassis - 2005> GTI & Jetta
Autotech/AP Racing 362mm Big Brake Kit Featuring 6 Piston Calipers

Hands down the finest brake kit available for the new GTI, Jetta & Rabbit. Gigantic 362mm x 32mm slotted
front rotors are clamped down with mammoth AP Racing 6 piston calipers, ensuring repeated stops with ZERO fade!
Autotech has developed these top tier brake components into a simple bolt-on using our CNC machined and mil-spec hard
anodized brake hats and adaptor brackets. Kit also includes special Autotech braided stainless steel front
brake lines and Ferodo DS2500 pads for excellent cold & warm braking characteristics. Must use 18" or
larger wheels and spacers may be required depending on wheel offset. AP Racing brake calipers can also be special

Autotech R32 345mm Brake Conversion for Mk5 Chassis

Here are the biggest OEM brakes you can put on an Mk5 to date...from the limited edition R32 Golf. A whopping 13.6 inches
(345mm) in diameter and a full 30mm (1.2") wide, the R32 rotors feature isolated hat and disc construction for maximum
temperature stability and reduced fade. The calipers are single piston, floating type calipers, painted R32 gray by the
factory. They clamp down on absolutely huge pads, providing eye-popping brake performance. Due to the size of this
setup, 18-inch or larger wheels are recommended for proper fit. Kit will fit 2005-on GTI, Jetta 5 and Rabbit models with
2.0T or 2.5L 5-cyl engines. Brake rotors also available cross-drilled and slotted for additional cost.

Mk4 Chassis - 1999-2005 Golf/GTI/Jetta/New Beetle
Autotech R32 334mm Brake Conversion for Mk4 Chassis

Here are the biggest OEM brakes you can put on an Mk4 to date...from the limited edition R32 Golf. A whopping
13.15 inches (334mm) in diameter and a full 32mm (1.26") wide, the R32 rotors feature 2-piece, isolated hat
and disc construction and directional internal vanes for maximum temperature stability and reduced fade.
The calipers are two-piston, floating type calipers, painted R32 blue by the factory. They clamp down on
absolutely huge pads, providing eye-popping brake performance. Also includes custom stainless steel brake lines
exclusive to Autotech. Due to the size of this setup, 18-inch or larger wheels are recommended for proper
fit. We have found that some 17-inch wheels will also fit, but with very limited clearance, and are therefore not
suggested. Kit will fit 1999-2005 Golf/GTI 4, Jetta 4, and New Beetle models with 1.8T or VR6 engines.

Measuring a whopping 312mm in diameter and 25mm wide, these huge German rotors and beefy calipers will effortlessly haul
your VW down from any speed. Engineered to be a complete and easy bolt-on for VW's more powerful 1.8T and VR6 models, the
Autotech big brake kit utilizes OEM rotors, caliper carriers, and Mintex Red Box pads for high performance and
durability. In addition to the above listed parts, the conversion for 2.0L and TDI models comes with the required wheel
bearing housings, wheel bearings, and calipers. 16" or larger wheels are required for all models. Brake rotors also

Autotech 312mm Big Brake Conversions for Mk3 VR6

Autotech offers big 312mm brake conversions for Mk3 Golf & Jetta VR6 models. The Autotech big brake kit for
1996 and later VR6 Golf and Jetta models utilizes OEM rotors, caliper carriers, and Mintex Red Box pads for high performance
and durability. Earlier VR6 models 1992-95 also require new calipers and brake hoses, so we therefore offer a different kit that
includes these. To clear the larger brakes, 16" or larger wheels are required for all models. Brake rotors are also
available cross-drilled and slotted for an additional cost.

Autotech 280mm Big Brake Conversion for Mk3 2.0L

This kit upgrades the 2.0L 4-cylinder models to the large 280mm front brakes. Incredible stopping power with virtually
fade-free performance is just a bolt-on operation with this conversion. Kit includes 280mm vented rotors, calipers,
carriers, and Mintex pads. Must use at least 15" wheels designed for fitment on a Corrado G60. Consult our technical

Mk2
Chassis - 1985-1992 Golf 2/Jetta 2/Passat 4-cyl
The design of the Golf 2 and Jetta 2 front brake system is unique. The brake caliper's carrier is integral to the
steering knuckle (wheel bearing housing). This does not interfere with changes from solid to ventilated rotors of the same
diameter, but brake caliper size and disc diameter changes are impossible without changing the bearing housing at the same time.
Autotech 280mm Big Brake Conversion for 1985-92 Golf /Jetta 8V & 16V
The absolute best braking performance is assured with this conversion for the Golf 2 and Jetta 2 models. Complete with
new wheel bearing housings (steering knuckles), wheel bearings, 22mm Sport master cylinder, axially vented 280mm
(11.0") rotors, calipers, carriers, splash shields, and Mintex pads. Note: requires 15" or larger wheels that will fit a G60 Corrado.

Autotech 280mm Big Brake Conversion for 1989-92 Jetta 16V & 1990-97 Passat 16V

This kit upgrades the original 256mm rotors found on Jetta 16V's from10/88-92 and 1990-97 Passat 4-cylinder models to
the gigantic 280mm ones as described above. This upgrade comes with new OEM axially vented 280mm (11.0") rotors, new
brake calipers, carriers, and Mintex pads. When upgrading to these brakes, 15" or larger wheels that fit G60 Corrados must
be used. Please consult Autotech's tech staff for recommendations.

SPORTTUNING TIP: Mk2 Big Brakes
When converting to either 256mm or 280mm brakes:
- 1985-88 Golf 2 models require new front hubs (VW#357.407.615).
- 1985-11/87 (VIN << J 010564) Golfs will also need new lower ball joints (VW#357.407.365).
- 1985-87 Jetta 2 models require both the above hubs and ball joints
as well.

Mk1 Chassis - 1975-1984 Rabbit/Scirocco/Jetta 1

Autotech 256mm Front Brake Conversion
This kit upgrades all Rabbit, Scirocco, Jetta 1, and Fox models to the larger brakes originally used on the 16V
Scirocco. The increase in brake swept area combined with the caliper's increased piston diameter makes for a dramatic
increase in stopping power. Contains new vented 256mm (10.1") rotors, calipers, carriers, and Mintex pads. A Sport master
cylinder is required when this kit is used with rear disc brakes. Note: Car must use at least 14" diameter wheels.
