The perfect rear brake upgrade kit for 2005> Mk5 chassis models also converting to larger front brakes.
This simple-to-install kits lineage is traced directly to the European only R32. The rear discs measure an impressive
310mm x 22mm and virtually eliminates fade. The conversion kit includes new OE rotors, calipers, carriers and Mintex brake pads.
The rear disc upgrade fits many 17” wheels, utilizes the original splash shields and requires no other modifications.
This kit has been tested and raced on both of our Project GTI’s for thousands of miles under some of the most demanding
conditions with nary a protest. A superior brake conversion when OEM appearance, quality and longevity are important.

Mk4 Golf, Jetta & Beetle 1998-2005
256mm Rear Disc Upgrade

Once the front brakes on your Mk4 Golf, Jetta, or Beetle are sufficiently upgraded, you'll want to step up to
these great rear brakes. Brakes like this are used on both the GTI 337 edition and Golf R32 and the performance is
outstanding. The new rear discs are 256mm diameter, up from the stock 232mm, and are radially-vented (like the front
discs) to reduce fade. The base conversion kit includes new OE rotors, Mintex pads, calipers and carriers.
Installation of the base kit requires minor modification of the original splash shields to clear the larger discs.
Optionally, we offer a full conversion kit that includes new factory splash shields, and the required rear wheel
hub/bearing assemblies (splash shield replacement requires removal of the rear hubs, which can damage the bearings,
forcing replacement). Choice of GTI 337 silver-painted or R32 blue-painted calipers with silver caliper carriers (red available as a special order).

226mm Rear Disc Conversions

Rear disc brakes add extra stopping power, and most importantly, improve modulation during performance driving. All
important components are included: stub axles, brake cables, stainless steel braided brake lines, wheel bearings,
seals, brake discs, calipers, carriers, dust shields, and all other incidental hardware. Autotech conversions are all new
parts, ready to bolt-on to your VW. Certain years and models require you to re-adjust your existing proportioning
valve, while other cars will need one of the new proportioning valves listed below.
