Autotech Short Shift Kits are designed to reduce your vehicle's shifter motion
inside the cockpit. This allows the driver to shift more rapidly for performance
applications and also cuts down on the amount of reach required during shifting
for more comfort while driving. Each short shift kit has the ability to provide two
throw-reduction levels, either 30% or 50%.
Don't be lured by cheap imitations. Our kits start with new factory linkage parts,
which are then modified on precision welding fixtures to ensure proper fit
every time. Each linkage piece is then cadmium plated for corrosion protection.
Each kit is complete with modified linkage, necessary bushings, and complete instructions.

Linkage Replacement Bushing Kits
These kits supply all of the Factory replacement plastic bushings and nylon-socketed linkage arms to help
eliminate that loose feeling associated with standard wear and tear on your vehicle. This kit restores the once taught
and precise feel to your car's shifting.
Note that we also include the main shift rod bushing in our Mk2 linkage kit. This is not sold separately by VW, and
must be purchased as part of a $25+ bracket! We have sourced the bushing itself for you and included it in our kit.
Mk2 Shifter Ball Rebuild Kit
The weakest point in the shifter assembly on Golf 2 and Jetta 2 models is
the ball and socket assembly at the bottom of the shift lever. Wear from ordinary use
will eventually cause excessive vertical play in the shifter and could cause the
reverse lockout finger to break off when reverse is selected. This kit includes the
parts that are needed to restore your sloppy shifter to like-new condition.
