Introduction
Autotech offers what we feel is the most comprehensive line of high quality
sport exhaust systems available.
The basics are what we at Autotech consider to be mandatory features of a
high quality exhaust system. Don't be surprised if some of these basics
aren't included in our competitor's systems. However, you can rest
assured that these features are standard issue on a SportTuned Exhaust.
Heavy Gauge Tubing
Our Stainless Steel Exhausts use aircraft quality 16 gauge alloy
tubing. Stainless is so durable, most exhausts made from it are only 18
gauge. Our heavier 16 gauge is a better choice because it maintains an
extra measure of durability at weld points and through the bends.
CNC Mandrel Bends
The only way to maintain uniform tube diameter through any bend, is to use a
mandrel inside the tube while bending it. The reason mandrel bends are
important is simple: airflow. A non-mandrel bend can reduce airflow by
35%. Most muffler shops don't have mandrel bending machines. They're
just too expensive. So, while your local muffler man says he can custom make
you an exhaust, chances are you'd be better off stock! Our SportTuned
Exhausts are bent on CNC mandrel bending machines capable of bending to exacting
tolerances. Each part is then test-fit in a precision fixture before it
is approved for sale.
Quiet Performance
Unlike some other sport exhausts, our SportTuned Exhaust is designed with
comfortable sound levels in mind. No one should have to put up with a noisy,
buzzy exhaust (local law enforcement included) just to get horsepower.
Proper Fit
Obvious, you say? You'd think so, but believe it or not, proper fit is more
often overlooked than not. At Autotech, we take fitment very
seriously. Our exhausts mount using the original hanger locations, and follow
the path in the body that offers the most clearance possible. This assures the
installation will be clunk free and hassle free.
Clamps & Hangers
We use OEM-type shell clamps in all of our SportTuned Exhausts. They're extremely strong and seal each connection in a uniform
manner. They won't deform or pinch the tube like saddle (u-bolt) clamps
do. We also supply first quality, OEM rubber hangers with our systems (where applicable).
OEM hangers last longer and support the exhaust better.

uses the latest equipment and continuously updates machines and tooling to maintain a high quality product.

True "high performance" is achieved only when the increase in performance obtained
is suited for its intended purpose. Autotech SportTuned Exhaust Systems are
designed as an overall package for the street driver that improves power across a
broad rpm range, not just one that sacrifices it all to get the biggest dyno number at 7,000 rpm.

SportTuned Stainless Exhaust Systems
When we made the decision to manufacture our own stainless steel
exhaust systems for Volkswagens, our goal was to build the best exhaust at the best
price available anywhere. Our SportTuned Stainless Exhausts meet that goal. There
are other stainless exhausts on the market, and while it seems new ones are
popping up all over, we think you'll find that the Autotech Systems are a cut above the rest.
GTI & Jetta (incl. GLI) 2.0T 2005-2007
Autotech continues to push the performance exhaust system envelope.
Extensive research and development time was spent in conjunction with industry
icon Magnaflow to improve on the factory offering, as Volkswagen has done a great
job engineering the stock 2.0T exhaust for ample flow. We're proud to have met that
challenge and now offer our Autotech SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems
for the Mk5 2.0T models.
The 3.00” diameter, 100% stainless steel tubing is a half-inch
larger than stock and mandrel-bent for maximum flow. These cat-back systems exit
through a low-restriction T304 stainless steel Magnaflow muffler and dual 3”
tips that feature our laser-engraved AUTOTECH logo, providing a menacing
appearance with an aggressive exhaust note worthy of the all-conquering 2.0T motor!
Dyno tests (using a DynoJet 248C chassis dyno) show gains of up to 8 horsepower and 6 ft./lbs. of torque at the wheels, impressive considering most competitors
systems also require changing the downpipe/catalyst (which is currently an
illegal modification) to realize any power gain. Autotech is also in development on a
CARB approved SportTuned Downpipe w/ Sport Catalyst that will further increase
horsepower in tandem wiith our SportTuned exhaust system AND remain 100% legal in all 50 states!

Passat B6 2.0T 2006-2007

Passat owners can now escape from the shadows of their GTI & Jetta brethren and install their own 3" diameter exhaust system for the awesome 2.0T engine! As with our other 100% stainless steel systems, this high-flow 3" mandrel-bent system is designed in conjunction with industry icon Magnaflow and delivers impressive horsepower & torque gains without the harsh drone so prevalent in other lesser quality systems.
These cat-back systems exit through a low-restriction T304 stainless steel Magnaflow muffler and dual 3” tips that feature our laser-engraved AUTOTECH logo, providing a more menacing appearance with an aggressive exhaust note worthy of the all-conquering 2.0T motor! Autotech has gone one step further for Passat owners and specified the use of a special center resonator to minimize cabin sound levels to help maintain the quiet, luxurious feel the Passat is known and loved for.
Dyno tests (using a DynoJet 248C chassis dyno) on a DSG equipped model yield gains of up to 12 horsepower and 12 ft./lbs. of torque at the wheels, impressive numbers considering use of the standard downpipe to maintain emissions compliance.
Passat 2.0T system is applicable for both sedan and wagon models.

Manufactured exclusively to our demanding specifications by industry leader Magnaflow®, our SportTuned
Stainless Exhausts for Mk3 models achieve maximum horsepower with minimal expense. Who would have thought that
a catalyst back exhaust system utilizing high-quality stainless steel throughout could be purchased for under $400?
Autotech continues to raise the bar in Volkswagen exhaust tuning.
System diameter is 2.50" inches for both 2.0L & VR6 models, resulting in smooth and unobstructed flow for peak
horsepower without sacrificing the great low-end torque that makes a Volkswagen a much more rewarding car to drive than
those Asian imports. Repeated dyno testing using both 2.25" and 2.50" exhaust tubing yielded no measurable
difference in low and mid-range torque, but the larger diameter tubing increases peak horsepower at higher rpms as
expected.
Magnaflow's all T304 rear mufflers provide a nice, mellow rumble at idle, with a growl at WOT that signifies that
this exhaust means business! All Mk3 systems feature dual 3" exhaust tips that are polished to a mirror-like
finish. Our company logo is then engraved by a CNC laser. The perfect look for the Mk3 series models.
Supercharged or Turbocharged Mk3 2.0L owners: this is the exhaust for you. Our 2.5" tubing diameter will
not restrict power like our competitor's puny 2.25" systems.
Dyno testing on a Dynojet 248C indicate gains of up to 9 wheel horsepower
depending on application and state of tune with generous low and mid-range grunt to
power you out of the corners.

SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Studs

Autotech offers a cure for your broken, rusty exhaust stud headaches; our own
stainless steel exhaust studs! These make a great upgrade on any VW (perfect when
changing your manifold/header). These very high quality studs are made from 303
stainless material. The threads are rolled, ensuring greater strength. M8x30.
Our SS studs are designed to fit nearly every watercooled engine application, from
4 to 6 cylinders.

Wurth Exhaust Assembly Paste

This high temperature sealing paste from Germany is an excellent way to ensure
a perfect seal between slip fit exhaust connections. This is especially helpful
when slipping new parts over old ones which may have gotten out of round. Tube
contains 150g (plenty for 1 car).
