SportTuned Valve Springs

These stiffer valve springs alone will extend the revving capabilities of your
valvetrain to the 8,000 rpm mark. In addition, the SportTuned valve spring set
will eliminate potential coil bind on high lift cams. When properly installed they
will allow up to 0.500 inches of cam lift. A good idea for any high performance
engine. Designed to fit stock retainers. Remember: Always keep the lower
valve spring seats in your cylinder head to prevent damage to the aluminum casting.
12V VR6 spring sets include required shims for proper installation.

1996 - 2005 Mk3 and Mk4 2.0L cars changed to a single valve spring design,
rather than the established dual spring setup. Most likely done to reduce
valvetrain drag, it limits your ability to run performance cams without additional
upgrades. Therefore, when upgrading the cam, we recommend upgrading to
SportTuned valve springs as well. Upper spring retainers must also change,
and lower seats added. Why not upgrade to Ti retainers at the same time?

SportTuned Titanium Retainers

Autotech manufactures SportTuned lightweight titanium retainers for the
ultimate street or race valvetrain. Each SportTuned retainer is made from Certified
6AL/4V titanium and is designed as a direct replacement for stock. They will
work with stock or our SportTuned springs. After machining, they are Tiodized®, a
proprietary process for titanium similar to hard anodizing of aluminum alloy, to
increase durability. At around 1/2 the weight of stock, SportTuned Ti Retainers
reduce reciprocating mass, creating a faster-revving engine, reducing the risk
of valve float as well. Autotech makes this once esoteric part affordable for street use.

High Performance Valves

The performance potential of your engine is limited by its ability to
breathe. This is a function of valve size, among other things. We feel that these
intake and exhaust valves represent the optimum for the present size cylinder
bores in use. They're the same valves that we use in our SportTuned Zylinderkopfen.
They are high quality Original Equipment (OE) valves made by the same suppliers to
most German car manufacturers. Priced individually.

Oil Controller

The oil you find in your car's air box is caused by high engine pressures and
spray off of the camshaft. This is injected into the breather pick-up hole
which vents directly to the airbox. This special glass-reinforced nylon Oil
Controller rests atop the camshaft underneath the cam cover. It reduces
camshaft spray and virtually eliminates oil-soaked air filters and intake systems.
Factory installed in all hydraulic lifter engines. Fits all 1.6L, 1.7L, and 1.8L 8V engines.
