Sport Springs give your car a lower, leaner and more aggressive look, while significantly improving handling and
cornering capability. Your car reacts more quickly and precisely to steering inputs with the improved transient and turn-in
response. You'll appreciate the taughter feel and better looks your car will have.
The properties of a performance spring can vary dramatically when attributes such as metal hardness and quality of the steel
are considered. The wire used in a spring determines its "memory" or ability to repeatedly return to the position where
the wire was originally bent. It also determines the overall life of the spring.
Progressive springs are designed to become stiffer as
they are compressed in the spring perch under increased loading. This offers many advantages.
First, the progressive rate of the springs insures that you will retain a comfortable ride under nearly all conditions.
Second, it allows the spring to rapidly build-up resistance when loaded during competition or sport/street driving. This
gives you increased performance only when and where it is needed most, especially important during hard cornering and
braking when each corner of the car is loaded differently. This provides for the optimum in precision handling and
responsiveness.
Third, because the rate is progressive, you experience a very smooth transition from straight-line comfort to high
performance cornering under all conditions. This facilitates better car control and faster transit through
corners. It's the closest thing to having an automatically adjustable suspension on your car.
Our springs are for vehicles that are used on the street for both high performance and daily driving. AUTOTECH
springs are designed with the street driving enthusiast in mind. They can give you the performance edge you're looking
for, without the large trade-off in driving comfort so common to ordinary lowering springs. Their superior design
allows them to be equally suited for the street and for the local autocross or driving school event. You will find, as we
have, that the key features that set AUTOTECH springs apart from the rest are superior design, superior materials, and
strict quality control.
Each set of AUTOTECH springs consists of four CNC cold-wound springs specifically engineered for US models.
AUTOTECH springs lower your car 25mm-48mm (1-2 inches) from stock depending on model. Each set is matched to assure you a perfect fit every time.

Don't cut that spring!
It is very important, from a safety standpoint, that you do not cut or "heat sag" your standard springs. Although
cutting springs will reduce the ride height, it does not significantly change the spring rate. This results in a
greatly increased risk of bottoming the suspension, which can lead to expensive damage to the vehicle's chassis. The
problems associated with this modification include broken strut towers, misalignment, and many times broken
windshields from excessive body twist. Heat-sagging your springs will adversely affect their rate because
the heated sections of the coils become hard and even brittle, thus greatly reducing the life span of the
springs. Beware of cheap alternatives! The majority of cost in manufacturing springs is in the cost of
the material itself. For this reason, most inexpensive "bargain" spring sets use a substandard quality wire. |
