Stressbars, also known as strut tie-bars, are important components that tie the upper shock towers and lower
control arm mounting points together. This significantly reduces body flex which affects wheel camber and stability.
ClubSport® Upper Stressbar

Our ClubSport line of tuned suspension components for Volkswagen are the
culminatio n
of the knowledge we have gained over the last 20 years working with VWs. ClubSport
upper stressbars are constructed entirely of lightweight aluminum, and are an
effective tool designed to extract maximum potential from your VW. They carry design
features that many competitors just don't have, or that they charge much more for.
Applications available for all models from 1985 on. For Mk2 owners with VR6
conversions, we have found that our Mk2 16V front upper stressbar provides the
most clearance and is the perfect stressbar for this application.
Featuring:
Hard-anodized, stamped aluminum strut rings for stiffness and reduced weight
Minimal bends to maximize rigidity
Polished 6061-T6 aluminum crosstube
CNC machined 6061 aluminum bar ends
Military-grade (AN standard) attachment hardware
Adjustable crosstube for a precise fit

Upper stressbars are essential for preventing chassis flex and upper strut
tower fatigue. These special all 6061-T6 aluminum upper stressbars increase
structural integrity while adding great looks to your engine bay. Stiffness is of
key importance in a stressbar design. With our design, weight is kept to a minimum,
yet they are more rigid than other steel stressbars on the market.
Our unique two-way center adjuster not only allows for ease of installation, but
also prevents harmful preloading of the suspension. The best available.

Rear Upper Stressbar

The rear suspension of your Volkswagen pivots on only two pick-up points. The axle beam serves as a torsional component
which twists under loading in corners or over bumps. Most of these stresses from the rear suspension are transmitted to the
rear chassis of the vehicle. To help counter this problem, the rear stressbar bridges the gap between the two upper rear
shock towers. Unlike its competitors, the Autotech Rear Stressbar will not severely reduce your car's ability to carry cargo.
The so-called "triangulated" rear stressbars on the market take up a lot of valuable cargo space. We at Autotech feel
that triangulation can be effective, but it must also be practical. Made of high quality 6061-T6 aluminum, this bar is
light, strong, and aesthetically pleasing. Our unique center adjuster allows for easy installation and adjustment. This bar
utilizes special, cast end pieces held to the upper shock towers by "U" bolts. No drilling required.

Front Lower Subframe

For Mk1 Chassis vehicles, "The Subframe" is a fully adjustable lower stressbar that provides triangulation for
all four of the pickup points on the lower front A-arm attachments. It is by far the most effective lower stressbar offered for
these cars. Fits cars with manual transmission only. A front lower stressbar is available separately and is simply the
front-only portion of the entire subframe.

Front Lower Stressbar

Front Lower Stressbars use steel tubing due to their close proximity to the ground. A flat black electrostatic powder
coat is applied to the steel bars for protection and good looks. Increases structural rigidity in crucial areas by
connecting the front a-arm pivot bolts.
