QUAIFE 6 SPEED GEARKIT, 02A/02J SYNCHROMESH
This fantastic gearkit was developed by Quaife in conjunction with Autotech for the 02A & 02J transaxles.á Once reserved for elite supercars, this synchromesh 6-speed conversion will transform your VW and make spirited driving a real pleasure.á When the ratios are this close together, it's easier to stay in the powerband, giving you on-demand acceleration and more usable power.á Performance VW Magazine wrote, It's like gaining an extra 40 bhp.Each Quaife 6-speed kit includes a new HD mainshaft;á all main & counter gears including reverse, 5th gear operating lever extension, and an aluminum end cover to house 6th gear.á All standard synchros, bearings, and ring & pinion are retained in the standard transmission casing for a factory type installation.á Unlike some other 6-speed conversions (which are really just a 6th gear add-on), Quaife gives you all 6 gears and a new mainshaft.á The advantage is stronger gears with optimized ratios for better performance. Our tech department can recommend a final drive ratio (your original or a new ratio) that is best suited for your car and your driving style.á This kit fits 5-speed 02A & 02J transaxles found in all Corrados, Mk3 Golf/Jetta VR6's, B3/B4 Passats, and Mk4 Golf, Jetta, and New Beetle models.
